The official confirmation of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid is just hours away, according to Marca.
The deal is supposed to cost Real more than €90 million,
with the Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy interested only in
cash, and has rejected the offer of Fabio Coentrao as a part of the
deal.
Spurs have spent heavily in this transfer window, and are expected to
break their record for a third time this season, after the signings of
Paulinho and Roberto Soldado, with the Brazilian midfielder Willian
reportedly undergoing a medical at Spurs. They also have their eyes on Erik Lamela, who can also complete a possible move to Tottenham from AS Roma in the coming days. Andre Villas-Boas will hope to add as much firepower to his side as
he can, before the Bale move is made official, and will certainly be
helped by the insane amount of money that is going to fill Spurs'
coffers. It is likely that Bale will be unveiled this Friday, or the next
week. This shall well bring an end to one of the major transfer sagas
that has dominated headlines all summer. The agreement looks to
be beneficial to all the three parties with Real Madrid acquiring the
player that they so badly wanted, Bale getting a chance to play for his "dream club"
and Tottenham splashing the cash wherever they can and strengthen their
squad with some good signings in a bid to play Champions League
football.
