Nine-Year-Old Boy Boards Flight Without Ticket

A "smart" nine-year-old boy managed to pass through a security checkpoint at a Minnesota airport and hop on a flight to Las Vegas without a boarding pass, authorities have said. Airport spokesman Patrick Hogan told ABC News that the boy who arrived alone at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport on Thursday, headed for the airport concourse after been screened by officials - where he boarded an 11:15 a.m. flight on Delta to Sin City.

Unknown gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram militants struck in Kaduna metropolis along Western By-Pass Express Way killing a policeman, after they laid an ambush on scores of police officers as they made their way to duty posts in the city. A police source said the sect members came on motorbikes and lay siege on the policeman plying the route after River Kaduna Bridge.

NUPENG Threatens To Join ASUU Strike

Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG, weekend, threatened stop distribution of petroleum products across the country if the Federal Government failed to implement the agreement reached with the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU. Although the union did not fix a specific date was fixed for the commencement of the solidarity strike, it said the strike became necessary in view of the lingering ASUU strike which the government had failed to resolve in the last three months.

PLANE CRASH: Why Agagu’s Casket Remained Intact

The ill-fated plane crash which happened on Thursday has left many tongues wagging as lives were lost and yet, the casket carrying Agagu’s corpse remained intact. According to sources who were present when the casket was opened, the body of the neatly dressed Agagu was not ruffled. “The cap on his head stayed intact even after impact”, a source told a National newspaper.

ASUP Shuts Polytechnics, Joins ASUU Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP, has commenced an indefinite strike, starting from Friday, October 4. This was confirmed by the ASUP president, Chibuzor Asumogba. “Yes, of course, the strike has begun today (Friday). It’s still going on and no turning back till the Federal Government listens to us and attend to our needs; none has been satisfactorily met,” he said.

PLANE CRASH: Burnt Corpses To Be Flown Abroad For DNA Analysis

Thirteen of the passengers died in the crash, and their remains were deposited in the morgue at LASUTH on Thursday. Pathologists carried out autopsies on the dead victims on Friday. A source in the hospital said that DNA swabs were taken today from relatives of the bodies that were burnt and as a result, could not be physically identified. The bodies would now be flown abroad for the DNA analysis. The source suggested that the process would take about three weeks to complete since it could not be conducted anywhere in Nigeria due to lack of required facilities.
