US ‘Drone’ Kills Two In Somalia

A car in southern Somalia has been hit by a suspected US drone strike, killing two fighters from the armed group al-Shabab, witnesses said. The men were the only occupants of the vehicle and no one else was harmed, they said. Witnesses blamed the United States, which has carried out drone strikes in Somalia before, for the attack.

Reports from the The Punch newspapers say that the superstar, Wizkid, was mobbed by thousands of fans as he stepped into the streets leading to his father’s house. Wizkid’s dad was celebrating his 70th birthday, but the fans there were packed to see Wizkid and not his dad. Punch also reported that Wizkid wasn’t able to see his father on this day because of the number of fans involved.

ASUU Slams David Mark Over Onosode Comments, Asks Him To Make His Salary Public

University of Ibadan chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has asked the Senate President, David Mark to apologise to the leader of Government negotiation with ASUU, Deacon Gamaliel Onosode over alleged disparaging comments. This formed part of the resolutions of the union at the end of a congress in the institution, weekend, signed by the chairman of the ASUU at the university, Dr. Olusegun Ajiboye.

FG/ASUU Dragged To Court Over Strike

A Lagos-based lawyer, Mr.Daniel Onwe, has dragged the Federal Government and Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, before a Federal High Court, Lagos, over violation of the fundamental right to the dignity of person of the affected students, who have been out of school for months, following the union’s strike.
