I Won’t Appoint PDP Defectors As Ministers – Buhari

President-elect Muhammadu Buhari said ‎the All Progressives Congress (APC) has nothing to fear over mass defection of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members to the party. “I have no fears of PDP defectors,” he said in an interview in his Daura residence on Saturday. Buhari said the PDP chieftains will have very little influence in the APC government. He said APC has all the capacity to manage the large numbers of PDP defectors.

Elected House Of Rep Member Escapes Assassination Attempt In Lagos

Elected Federal House of Representative member in Amuwo Odofin constituency, Prince Oghene Egoh on Thursday escaped being assassinated by some unidentified men in Lagos. SATURDAY SUN learnt that the alleged assassins trailed him from Lagos Island to Mile 2 , Amuwo Odofin area of Lagos while he was returning from a meeting.

Soldiers Beat Up Voter For Taking Their Pictures In Surulere

There was pandemonium at Polling Unit 046, Sam Sonibare Street, Surulere, Lagos, as a team of soldiers beat up a youth for taking their pictures. It was learnt that the soldiers, about 25 in number, were in a big truck, patrolling the area when the youth decided to take their pictures.

Couple Burnt To Death In Lagos After Power Surge

Tragedy struck in Lagos in the early hours of Saturday, as a young couple was burnt to death in their apartment. The victims, simply identified as Ayo and Jumoke, were said to have died in the fire which razed their apartment at 34, Associate Crescent, Abimbola Awoniyi Estate, New Oko-Oba area of Agege. Mr Rasak Fadipe, the Director of Lagos State Fire Service, confirmed the incident.
