yesterday moved from Abuja to their respective campuses expecting
crackdown, as the Federal Government has issued several threats. President Goodluck Jonathan might no longer be directly involved in
negotiation with the lecturers: he is angry for the ASUU leaders’
contempt for the office of the President, their decision to issue new
conditions and then being allegedly backed by some external forces.

5 Die In Accident As Commuter Bus Skids Off Road In Zamfara
Five persons died in an auto crash when a 10-seat Sharon bus skidded
off the road at Tudun-Gara village near Kaura Namoda in Zamfara on
Saturday. Alhaji Muktar Fago, Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC’s Unit
Commander in the zone, said the carnage occurred at 6.30 am, about 10
kilometers into Kaura-Namoda/Sokoto road.

ASUU STRIKE: We Will Not End The Strike Until...
The Academic Staff Union of Universities has said it will not
suspend its ongoing strike until the four months salaries owed its
members are paid.
The union also wants the immediate implementation of the N1.2tn offer
by the Federal Government to public universities, starting with the
release of N100bn this year. The balance of N1.1tn is to be spread over
five years from 2014.

professors of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology

ASUU Didn’t Go On Strike Because Of Salaries – National Wages And Salaries Commission

ASUU: ''Call Off Strike In Memory Of Iyayi'' - Saraki
Former
Kwara state governor, Bukola Saraki, on Wednesday urged the leaders and
members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to end the
lingering 4-months strike. Mr. Saraki, who was reacting to the death ASUU former president, Dr. Festus Iyayi, in a road accident, said the union should consider calling off the strike in his memory.
JAMB 2014 - No 2nd Choice Tertiary Institution For Candidates
JAMB 2014 registration has begun and one of the changes made to the
registration template is the removal of second choice institutions and
addition of an Innovative Enterprise Institution (IEI) making the the
choices four in number namely:
1. Degree Awarding Institutions
2. ND Awarding Institutions
3. NCE Awarding Institutions
4. Innovative Enterprise Institutions (IEI)
