RUMOURS: Cech set to be named Arsenal captain

The former Chelsea goalkeeper has quickly become a cornerstone of Arsene Wenger's first team, and is reported to be in line to pull on the armband. Petr Cech is set to be rewarded for his form at Arsenal by becoming club captain, according to the Daily Mail.  With current skipper Mikel Arteta set to leave the Emirates Stadium in June, Arsene Wenger must look for a replacement for the Spanish midfielder.  And the newspaper asserts that the manager has set his eyes on Cech, who has made a big impression in north London since leaving Chelsea in the summer.

Cech's communication skills are thought to be a key motivation for the possible decision. The experienced goalkeeper speaks five languages and is already seen as one of the squad's leaders.
