Manchester United ready to meet €36m buy-out clause for Ander Herrera
Are Manchester United
really going to sign a central midfielder? That too on the transfer
deadline day? Rub your eyes. And again. Now read, the story. Manchester United are willing to pay €36 million for Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrara as David Moyes gets busy on the final day of the transfer window. The Red Devils had already lodged bids earlier for the
24-year-old, but the Basque-club demanded for the player’s buy-out
clause to be met, and as per latest reports, the deal will be announced
soon, once United pay the money, which they have agreed to do. Having said that the deal is far from over, as the player
will have to undergo and pass the medical. Midfield is one of the areas
Moyes wanted to reinforce in the summer. After their defeat at the hands
of arch rivals Liverpool
yesterday, any top signing will come as a welcome relief. But, the
sheer thought of signing a midfielder is far more tantalizing on the
transfer deadline day than anything else.

As we said earlier that Arsenal
are going to dominate this transfer deadline day today, whether or not
they can bring in some new faces, only time will tell that. According to reports from BBC journalist David Ornstein, the Gunners are holding talks with Chelsea to sign striker Demba Ba on a season long loan.
Everton want City’s Barry on loan to replace United-bound Fellaini
After being capped 53 times for England,
it’s fair to say that Gareth Barry’s international career has fizzled
out during recent times. The midfielder seems unable to break into Manchester City’s multi-million pound team and is looking for a move to reignite his Three Lions flame.
Lessons learned from Liverpool’s defeat of Manchester United
We now know three more things. Firstly, that Daniel Sturridge continues to look like a growing force for Liverpool, and possibly England. Secondly, that Brendan Rodgers’ renaissance at Anfield continues on track. Thirdly that taking over from Sir Alex Ferguson, even if you seek to change very little, is going to be a massive test for David Moyes.

New Look Liverpool Defence as Sakho and Ilori Join
Last season, Liverpool’s
defence was not as tight as Brendan Rodgers would have liked. Halfway
through the season, Martin Skrtel was dropped from the starting XI due
to a dip in form and replaced by veteran Jamie Carragher, who has since
retired. Sebastian Coates has not developed as quickly as Liverpool
would have liked. Keeper, Pepe Reina has also had a recent decline in
his performance levels, the fan favourite has not been at his best and
went on a season-long loan to Napoli early in the summer.
These factors combined have left Brendan Rodgers’ squad very light at
the back.

and Cristiano Ronaldo? “Real Madrid are like a Hollywood studio. We make a movie every day, and the movie is worth more if Tom Cruise is in the lead.”

Transfer Deadline Day: Arsenal in advanced talks to sign Mesut Ozil
Arsenal are
finally looking to make the Transfer Deadline Day interesting, as the
Gunners are thought to be involved in advanced talks with Real Madrid to sign attacking midfielder Mesut Ozil, reports Sky Sport. Madrid have signed Gareth Bale from Tottenham Hotspur for a world record fee £85.3m and are willing to hear offers for the German international. It has been a hugely frustrating summer for the Gunners,
having failed to land any major names despite being linked with so many
top international stars like Gonzalo Higuain and Luis Suarez. However,
with reported £70 million burning hole in the pocket, Wenger is looking
to part with a large chunk of it for the German creative midfielder. Having singed only Yaya Sanogo and Mathieu Flamini for
free, Wenger again addressed the issue of getting in extra bodies after
their 1-0 victory over Spurs yesterday, as the Gunners look to break
their own transfer record, with a £42.5 million deal in the 11th hour of
the transfer window. The 24-year-old has played over a 100 games for Real Madrid since he moved to Bernabeu in 2010 from Werder Bremen.
The arrival of Bale and Isco at the club means, the talented German
will drop down the pecking orders at the club, and though he reiterated
last week that he wants to stay in Spain, he might be forced out. Arsenal have also been linked with a move for Madrid stars
Angel di Maria and Karim Benzema, though it is highly unlikely that the
Los Blancos will part with both of them.
