Sensational reports from the Mirror are claiming that Manchester United ace may have handed in a transfer request on Tuesday. According to the source,
which cites an interview with football pundit Mark Lawrenson, the Dutch
forward is unhappy with life under David Moyes and is seeking a move.
Lawrenson is supposed to have said: "There's all sorts of rumours coming out of the training ground at the moment.
Your browser does not support iframes.
"One or two of the press boys that I know that cover Manchester
United, they're even saying that the big whisper is Van Persie might
have asked for a transfer on Tuesday. "So if that happens, what a mess that's going to be for David Moyes." What a mess indeed. Following the Red Devils' indifferent start to
the season there has been heavy criticism of the new manager, who hasn't
yet lived up to his billing as Sir Alex Ferguson's ready-made
successor. Regardless of that though the news of Robin van Persie's desire to
leave the club, if proven to be true, will be a huge blow for the
Premier League champions. The ex-Arsenal star was a massive influence during their title
winning campaign last season, scoring 26 Premier League goals in 38
appearances.Clarification over the mind-numbing reports will likely follow in the coming days.
