The meeting between university lecturers and the Federal Government
concerning the on-going strike that held on Monday is rescheduled to
hold on Thursday as contending issues were not resolved.

government delegates led by the Secretary to the Government of the
Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim, met on Monday, in Abuja.

2011 memorandum of understanding they had with the government on various
issues ranging from university autonomy, to funding, and lecturers’
remuneration. The government has said it wants a renegotiation of some
parts of the 2009 agreement.
