Manchester United chase £15m defender, Arsenal target £20m La Liga Star

Manchester United manager David Moyes is looking to make full use of winter transfer window and not only adding a central defensive midfielder is top of his wish-list, but bolstering on other areas of the pitch are also on the agenda, as well, if the reports are to be believed.
Moyes was present in the Champions League match between Atletico Madrid and Porto, and quite naturally media are quick to speculating and linking as well few players with Manchester United. Yesterday, it was Koke, today it is Frenchman Eliaquim Mangala. In the last few months, Manchester United scouts have paid several visits to Portugal and going by the media reports, the list of scouted players are long enough. One of them is Mangala, the £15m rated defender, who is gradually establishing himself as one of the defensive lynchpin for Porto. Despite the fact, Man Utd have five central defenders on their ranks, the general consensus in the media is that the Red Devils are looking to buy a new leader at the back. The 32-year-old Nemanja Vidic has showing signs of wear while Rio Ferdinand 35, also nearing the end. Further, neither of Chris Smalling nor Phil Jones have been convincing enough to claim the central defensive spot, which could prompt Moyes to splurge cash on the exciting 22-year-old youngster.

The Metro reports that Arsenal are interested in Real Sociedad winger Antoine Griezmann and could make a move for him in the January transfer window. The 22-year-old is a long-term target of the North London club while the La Liga outfit are willing to listen to offers for him, should the price is right. Fund is not a big problem for the Gunners anymore, but adding right players for right money is the key. Arsenal have an avalanche of wide players and midfielders – all they need is a striker. Therefore, going for another left winger in the January doesn’t make to much sense. The dosh could be used in a better way.
