Family NABBED for Drug Traffiking

Members of a family accused of dealing large quantities of methamphetamine and other drugs on the Central Coast were arrested Tuesday in a pre-dawn operation, federal authorities said.
The FBI says the Rocha family was responsible for trafficking highly potent and pure narcotics in Santa Maria and surrounding communities, including near Mesa Middle School in Arroyo Grande.

While the Oba of Lagos, Rilwanu Akiolu, delivered apparently anti-Igbo remarks Sunday, sparking fierce nationwide backlash, Igbo leaders who were part of Mr. Akiolu’s audience, helped prod him on, joining other listeners in applauding the monarch as he spoke, audio and video recordings of the event show.

Ronaldo's 24th hat-trick in La Liga, equal with Messi

Cristiano Ronaldo scored five goals, including a first-half hat-trick, as Real Madrid thrashed Granada at the Bernabeu. The world player of the year's first three came within eight minutes following Gareth Bale's opener, putting Real 4-0 up at the break. Ronaldo's fourth came in the second half between two from Karim Benzema. 

Kenya strikes al-Shabab in Somalia after Garissa attack

Kenya's military has launched air strikes against al-Shabab bases in Somalia following an attack on a Kenyan university that killed 148 people. Colonel David Obonyo, a military spokesman, said on Monday that warplanes had attacked positions of the al-Shabab group on Sunday afternoon and early Monday morning.

Obama: Iran deal is once in a lifetime opportunity


United States President Barack Obama has defended a framework nuclear understanding with Iran as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to prevent a nuclear bomb and bring longer-term security to the Middle East, insisting the US will stand in defence of Israel.
In an interview with The New York Times, published on Sunday night, Obama argues the risks of a deal are far outweighed by potential gains if it deters Iran's nuclear weapons aspirations, since the US is a far superior military power who can protect its core security interests.

Kenyan university attacker identified as official's son



Kenya's interior ministry has identified one of the al-Shabab gunmen who massacred students at a northeastern university as the son of a Kenyan government official.
Mwenda Njoka, an interior ministry spokesman, said Abdirahim Abdullahi was among four gunmen who attacked the Garissa University College campus on Thursday, killing 148 people.
