Iran is planning to send another monkey into space, reports have said. Conservative daily Jomhuri Eslami quoted on Sunday the deputy head of
Iran’s space agency, Hamid Fazeli, as saying the planned launch, within
a month, is part of the country’s plans to send a human to space in
2018. Iran had earlier this year claimed it launched a monkey out of the earth’s atmosphere and successfully had it return. Fazeli was quoted in the article as saying animals with a similar
weight as monkeys are under consideration as future space test subjects. In September, Iran suggested it may start launching Persian cats into space.

Open Letter to David Moyes from Man. United Fan in Nigeria
Poor start of the new season by Manchester United concerns
players, experts and, of course MU fans from around the world. Below is
the example of such concerns by a supporter of the ‘Red Devils’ from
Nigeria (unedited). I’m sitting down here and watching the nigger I just handed N5,000
walk away, a fruity-arse smile on his black-as-Satan’s-heart Yoruba face
and a spring in his hell-bound step. Why I gave him the money, you
might ask.

the 2015 general elections may hold in either January or February of
that year. The last general elections held in April, 2011 and the commission

that year’s elections, it would have been held on an earlier date to
give room for imminent legal actions to be resolved before the
inauguration date of May 29th.

Commission, NUC, that the government has passed a directive to the
various universities governing councils to stop payment of salaries of
the striking lecturers.
Eid-el-Kabir: Monday Not Public Holiday, Says FG
Contrary to speculation in some quarters that changes have been made
in the dates earlier declared as public holidays in commemoration of the
Eid-el-Kabir festival, the Federal Government has reiterated that
Monday is a working day. The Federal Government, through the Minister of Interior, Comrade
Abba Moro said the clarification became necessary following the
strings of misinformation said to be publicized by some media houses in
the country. Mr. Moro reaffirmed that the dates of the Sallah holiday still
remains Tuesday, 15th and Wednesday, 16th October, 2013 and “wishes all
Nigerians a most rewarding and peaceful celebration.”
