Arsenal must rival Manchester United for Belgian star

Arsenal need to sign Marouane Fellaini

After Everton rejected a £28 million bid from Manchester United for their star duo Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines, Arsenal should now rival the Premier League champions for the Belgian international.
After the Gunners' horror show against Aston Villa on Saturday, Arsenal fans have demanded that the club spend some money before the end of the transfer window.
Arsene Wenger has only added Yaya Sanogo to his squad this summer and his side are looking extremely vulnerable.

And an ideal player to boost the north London outfits squad would be the big Belgian, Tottenham.
Despite the fact that his £24m release clause ended a couple of weeks ago, the 25-year-old could still be tempted by the lure of European football and Arsenal should take advantage of that.
Now, for some, the Gunners' midfield is the strongest part of their team.
They have Mikel Arteta, Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey, Santi Cazorla and Tomas Rosicky, but the player they don't have is Fellaini.
And, the Belgian could offer Wenger's side something different that his other players can't.
Fellaini is strong, powerful and great in the air - the exact type of player Arsenal need.
He can take a football match by the scruff of its neck and gain three points for his team - just look at his performance against Manchester United on the opening weekend of last season.
He could add that extra bit of bite in the Arsenal team - bite that was clearly missing against Villa.
He can play as a box-to-box midfielder, he can sit in-front of the defence and he can play off the striker. His versatility and presence is just what Arsenal need right now. He's a warrior and would add steel to the Gunners' side.
Everton are certainly keen to keep him and Manchester United are keen to sign him. However, Arsenal must go out of their way and bring the Belgian star to the Emirates.
