ASUU: Now That The FG Has Shifted Grounds, Strike Will End Soon

Chairman, Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), University of Ibadan branch, Dr Segun Ajiboye, yesterday said that the strike by the union which has entered sixth month would soon come to an end, especially as the federal government has begun to shift grounds. He however did not give details of the ‘ground-shifting’ he talked about.

The widow, Joy Ifijeh, who came into the limelight after a video of her begging to be spared by Gov. Oshiomhole went viral and caused widespread outrage across the country, yesterday shunned the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) N250,000 gift. According to report, Mrs. Ifijeh was absent at the launch of an empowerment fund to cater for widows in the state by the state chapter of the PDP at which she was to be presented with the N250,000 gift.

Seun who has taken after his father, especially by being outspoken, confirmed that despite denials by family members when Fela died in1997, it was actually HIV/AIDS that killed him as well as his own mother. Seun therefore vowed to live a responsible life instead of following in that aspect of his father’s

ASUU Strike: Federal University of Technology Owerri Sacks Entire Teaching Staff

This has been confirmed by Mr. Chike Ezenwa, the Public Relations Officers (PRO) of the institution, in a telephone conversation with the Nigerian Tribune in Owerri.

According to him, the senate of the university had declared all the positions of academic staff in the institution, adding that they would be advertised starting from December 2, 2013, Monday.
