Plane Crash In Ilorin; trainees from aviation school escape death

crew members on board a training aircraft of International Aviation
College, Ilorin, escaped death as the plane crashed during a routine
exercise. The incident occurred at about 11.33 a.m. yesterday within the vicinity of Ilorin International Airport.
ASUU Agrees To Suspend Strike After Secret Meeting, Gives Jonathan Three Conditions
University lecturers in Nigeria have agreed to end the five-month old
strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, if the
federal government agrees to three conditions, according to the Nigerian
Eye. The three conditions are expected to be made known to President
Goodluck Jonathan today, after which the strike will be called off and
if an agreement is reached.

ASUU STRIKE: We Will Not End The Strike Until...
The Academic Staff Union of Universities has said it will not
suspend its ongoing strike until the four months salaries owed its
members are paid.
The union also wants the immediate implementation of the N1.2tn offer
by the Federal Government to public universities, starting with the
release of N100bn this year. The balance of N1.1tn is to be spread over
five years from 2014.

''Festus Iyayi Was Shot By Policemen In Kogi's Governor Convoy''
An anonymous tipster has confided in SaharaReporters that
Festus Iyayi, a former president of the Academic Staff Union of
Universities (ASUU), was actually shot by policemen in the convoy of the
Kogi State Governor, Captain Idris Wada, prior to the road accident in
which he supposedly died last week. The source claimed that the injuries found on the late writer’s chest
were consistent with gunshot injuries and that a bullet did pierce his
heart.
